Jim Allan

Primary Discipline: Road Racing
Other Disciplines:
Birth Year: 1950
City Of Residence: Ada
Favorite Race: I enjoy participating in the various charity bicycle tours in the area such as the Holland Hundred, Gran Fondo , Rapid Wheelmen Color Burst and Hundred Grand but the favorite would be the Leelanau Harvest Tour in September. I also participated in the Apple Cider Century for many years along with 7000+ riders.

Biggest Accomplishments

I thoroughly enjoy encouraging participation, volunteer support and spectator involvement in the wide variety of events that we can choose from in West Michigan. We are fortunate to have so many event promoters and sponsors and it is important that they know we appreciate their involvement and support.

I always suggest to just get out and participate in any activity that is interesting and available and do not worry about apparel or equipment. Seek out advice and involvement with local fitness shops, clubs and organizations that all offer some type of training runs or rides. Don't hesitate to seek advice from others already participating in your chosen activity.

If I'm Not Competing...

I enjoy putting together group rides and exploring new areas. I also recently began kayaking, have been sailing most of my adult life and water skiing even longer than that.

One Thing You Don't Know About Me:

I enjoy roller blading - it reminds me of the days that I used to play hockey.
